Hello!
I'm mum to a lively toddler who was born with TGA & underwent the "simple switch" at the Brompton hospital London in 2006.
At the time we felt isolated and alone, believing we were the only parents to suffer such trauma - we know different now!
Cordelia was lucky to have had successful surgery, and we will be forever grateful to the staff for giving her a life.
There's lots of things that she does which I question if it's normal toddler behaviour or because of CHD/surgery. I try to treat her the same as I would have had she not had CHD, but sometimes its hard not to be over-protective.
She is our first and only child.
I hope together we can get the world to start taking notice of CHD & the effect it has on lives.

Hi Maddie,
Cordelia is beautiful! As i was looking at your pics, my heart just sank when i saw her in her during the surgery phases. I haven't seen my child in that situation yet, but it's coming soon ( 3-4 weeks), so it really hit home. I was amazed at the healing process and how the scar is hardly visible now.
