Did you know that all babies born with CHD are eligible for grants through the deaming waiver program to help cover medical costs? the grants may not cover everything, but they sure do help... Auri's heart surgery was a little over $100,000... insurance covered 80% so we were responsible for about $20,000.... but SSI Disability will take care of most of that. Most children with Down Syndrome can get SSI medical assistance program even if the family income causes them to not be eligible for disability.
